Mission Statement
I believe people should live full, genuine lives, free from the suffering of their past and open to healthy, fulfilling connections.
Hi, I'm Paige
I'm a licensed professional counselor, and I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma. Trauma can come from big life events such as sexual assault, medical issues, natural disasters, accidents, to name a few. It can also happen in a more covert way, such as attachment wounds, challenging breakups, job loss, etc. I also work with helpers, those who care for others through their work or volunteer time, and who experience compassion fatigue. Through EMDR I'll help you feel secure in your body, life, and relationships, learn how to trust yourself and your intuition, and lead the healthy and happy life you deserve. We can work together to help you find the boundaries that keep you safe along with the self-care and self-compassion to maintain them.
Therapy With Me
Don't you hate it when you know something intellectually to be true, but your heart can't seem to catch up? EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidenced based practice that helps your brain heal itself. Our traumas get stuck in our brains in a network that cannot access all the amazing and helpful information we know to be intellectually true, leaving us feeling sad, anxious, and alone. Through EMDR processing, we can activate both sides of your brain so that ALL the information you have can be used to help you process traumatic memories to find peace with your past, comfort in your present, and hope for your future. What you need to heal is real and vulnerable and we're going to do it the right way. We will make sure you know how to allow your brain the space to process without becoming overwhelmed by your emotions. We will help you identify causes of your suffering from an attachment and family systems perspective. Meaning, we will identify how you fit into relationships with those around you and how you can make decisions from a place of authenticity. EMDR is proven effective with all types of traumas, both big and small, so don't sell yourself short. If you lived it, if it hurt you, if it haunts you, then it is worth our time and attention.
How it Works
1
Get Started
Call or email me to set up a free initial phone call to make sure we're a good fit. I'll ask about what is bringing you into therapy and we can discuss our schedules to get you get you started.
2
Meet With Me
We'll schedule an initial session. The first few sessions is about gaining a strong understanding of your struggles, your history, and your goals for therapy. We will get to know one another to help you feel safe in my office so that you have the comfort needed to process your painful experiences.
3
Make a Plan
Once we have a good understanding of you and your needs, we will begin working toward your goals. Please see the EMDR or Individual Therapy pages for more information
