My Philosophy
I believe people can live genuine lives because I have seen the transformation from uncertain to confident; from victim to empowered.
I found myself wanting to become a therapist when I took my first human growth and development course in college. I was amazed at the body and the brains way of growing and changing to better suit a humans' developing needs. I wanted to help people begin to create changes for their mental health that are less obvious and just as powerful to meet the changing needs of their lives.
Humans are part of a broader picture and no one exists in a vacuum. We are all impacted by those around us and events we experience. Our family of origin is our first and greatest teacher and sometimes we learn lessons the hard and hurtful way from this teacher. Sometimes our schools, our place of employment, or other institutions and systems help us create negative beliefs about ourselves. Sometimes, life hands us extremely difficult moments that we feel ill equipped to handle. I want to provide therapy that allows people to reprocess some of those teachings to help them heal their wounds. Not all traumas are obvious; some come in small, discreet packages which makes it difficult to honor the affect it has on our lives.
I have cultivated my style as a clinician to be thoughtful, considerate, and intelligent. I use humor to help maintain a lightness that allows us the confidence to delve into the dark together. My clients come out of therapy feeling supported, confident in their abilities to maintain their boundaries and integrity, and able to live their lives from a place of authenticity.
Services
The Personal
When I am not seeing clients you can find me enjoying food, drink, and laughs with the people I love. I volunteer in animal rescue and cherish my time with my fellow volunteers and helping the rescue cats find loving homes. I am an avid reader and enjoy both fiction and non-fiction. I really value time in nature so I spend a lot of time outdoors in the city parks, on hiking trails, and kayaking various bodies of water.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length and cost $150 per session. An extra 30 minutes can be added for an additional $75.

Monday - Thursday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
I do not offer office hours Friday through Sunday. Replies to calls and emails occur within my office hours.
3 / Do you see children, teens, or couples?
I only work with individual adults. Working with children, teens, and couples require specialized training which I do not have. Not just any therapist can work with any concern or population, so I make sure to stick to what I am good at.
